Camping

Well, the Maddox family is getting ready for a long waited camping/hiking trip! That's right Stephen's first camping trip and we can't wait. We're heading up to Atlanta tonight to my dear friend Stephany and Mack's house, and then Sat. all of us (including their 6month old Layla) are heading up to the AT (Appalachain trail) for an easy 4 mile hike in, camping, and then a hike out the next morning! We can't wait. I know Alan is really looking forward to getting away from all the projects in the house and getting back to nature. Don't worry we'll bring our camera and post new pictures as soon as we get back.

As for me and the pregnancy, things are going great! I'm now 12 1/2 weeks along and starting to feel much better. It's funny to me how this time around I don't think about it to much until either my brain just completely stops working, I realize I'm starving 30 mins after I just ate, or I sit down in the middle of the afternoon and can't get up :) Stephen keeps me busy, and I love it! He's helping this pregnancy go by much quicker than I imagined. :)

The long awaited updated post

Faithful friends and family, thank you for coming back all month to see if I ever posted anything new.....Well here it is! Sorry for the long delay - almost the entire month of August. In that time we've just been moving and groving as usual Stephen has been growing more and more and showing just how smart he really is. Just the other day we had a little problem in our house so i had to move some stuff from one room to the other; and before I knew it Stephen had moved his toys over so he could climb ontop of this huge stack of wood flooring - I couldn't beleive it! I knew he was a climber but I wasn't prepaired for this!

So here are just a few photos from the last two weeks. The one where he is in the pool is at Alan's mom's house. He had a blast running in the yard and playing in the pool! I loved just watching him, and I know his Grandma did too!

Stephen practices for the Olympics in 2024

two loves - race cars and chairs....

Stephen seems to love cars - escpecially race cars! After watching one Formula 1 race with Alan he has been in love with cars, he immediatly learned how to make the sound of a car, and loves watching the movie Cars. Now this has been a pattern for a while, and in the last few months has begun sitting in chairs - so what happens when you combine the two????

You get an awesome race car chair and one happy boy!

Another reunion! Fun times at the beach, and other stuff

Long time no post......again! A quick catch up on the on goings of the Maddox family - Stephen, my mom, and I spent the 4th of July weekend in Darien GA for our annual Anderson family reunion. It was HOT, but wonderful. Most of the cousins I know and my mother knows the most stay in the same hotel, so most of the catching up happens at the pool or in the lobby over coffee......or wine. Stephen had so much fun hanging out with some cousins his own size and age. My cousins from St. Louis were there and then headed down to the beach near us for a week. We love their visits and the chance to hang out with them, though to most of the world your third and fourth cousins wouldn't even cross your mind, but we spent most of our childhood and now adult life with the Rhodes so their just cousins to us! :)
Now in the picture's above we were all out walking on the beach yesterday right after a nasty storm.... should have known better....as Stephen was standing in the surf Alan noticed as a wave came up on him that a jelly fish wrapped around his little ankle. He cried and screamed, Alan ran to a grocery store to get some meat tenderizer, and when he got back Stephen had fallen asleep on me in the condo. His little ankle looked like it hurt so bad, so we packed up and called it a day. :( I have to say, I don't think I've ever gotten a sting as bad as that one.... But he toughed it out!
Thanks for all the prayers, please pray for two of my friends who just had their second child each! Baby Catherine Ann http://www.kuetemeyer.blogspot.com/ and Baby Ethan http://www.matt-n-julie.blogspot.com/
